Antler Velvet?

Male deer and elk shed and grow new antlers every year. As this bony material grows, it is covered in a soft membrane referred to as "velvet". This velvet contains many substances such as amino acids, minerals, proteins, and Growth Factor-1 (a protein hormone similar in molecular structure to insulin).

Proponents of deer antler velvet claim that it increases physical and mental vitality, alertness and endurance.  In Asia, deer antler velvet is said to harmonize the yin and yang energies, to bring the body into balance at a fundamental level.
